ZSL bag pattern
I have designed this bag pattern to help raise funds for my local zoo (Whipsnade). Both London and Whipsnade zoos are charity run and need help and support in this desperate time of 2020. This tote bag has 'I love (heart) ZSL' in fillet crochet style on both sides. The bag would make a great tote for shopping.
ZSL (Zoological Society of London), is an international conservation charity, and their vision is a world where wildlife thrives. From investigating the health threats facing animals to helping people and wildlife live alongside each other, ZSL is committed to bringing wildlife back from the brink of extinction. Their work is realised through the ground-breaking science, the field conservation around the world and engaging millions of people through our two zoos, ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo.
Please donate any amount to this great charity here.

Yarn 3 ply fingering yarn or similar.
Hook size: E/4 3.5mm
Other supplies: Stitch markers (SM), darning needle.
Stitches used in this project:
MC magic circle, SC single crochet, CH chain, SS slip stitch, DC double crochet,
HDCFC, Half double crochet foundation chain
1. Start with 3 chains on hook. (counts as first hdcfc)
2. Yarn over, and then insert hook into the first chain/3rd chain from hook. Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 3 loops on your hook
3. Yarn over and pull up through the first loop on the hook <- this creates your first “chain stitch”.
4. Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on hook <- this completes your first foundation half double crochet stitch!
5. To create the second half double crochet stitch, yarn over and insert hook into the “chain stitch” you created in Step 3.
6. Yarn over and pull up a loop to create your next chain stitch.
7. Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on hook to complete your next half double crochet stitch.
8.Repeat over and over again until you get your desired foundation row length. This is a great way to immediately start a project with a bit of height!
