Yarn UK, 3 ply dk yarn, I used Aldi yarn, acrylic
A Red25g B White25g C Blue25g Hook used: G/6 4mm Other supplies needed: Stitch markers (SM), darning needle, Stitches used in this project MC magic circle, SC single crochet, CH chain, DC double crochet, SS slip stitch Notes: * The following pattern has US instructions. * Stitches marked in parentheses are in the same stitch Example: (2sc) means 2sc into the same stitch Alternative to stitch marker is to use a different coloured yarn Washing: Read the care label on chosen yarn. This would usually be hand wash only Finished size: 9 x 4.5" suitable for a 75cl bottle |
Bag
Starting in colour A, Use stitch markers to mark the start of each round.
1, 6cs into magic circle (mc), alternatively chain 2 and 6cs into first chain from hook.
2, (2sc) 6 times [12]
3, *(2sc) 1sc, * 6 times [18]
4, *(2sc) 2sc, * 6 times [24]
5, *(2sc) 3sc, * 6 times [30]
6, *(2sc) 4sc, * 6 times [36], Stop when the last round is approximate 5mm smaller than the bottle base.
For larger bottles continue in the same rounds sequence.
Example (2sc) 5sc, then (2sc), 6sc for the next round and continue.
7, 36dc, [36] finish off last stitch changing to B
8, 36dc [36] finish off last stitch changing to A
9 to 17, Repeat rounds 7 and 8, do not cut off A or B at the end of each round, Change to colour C at the end or round 17. If your bottle is taller continue the rounds until you are half way up the bottle, Ending in colour A.
18 to 27in C, 36dc, [36]
28, Stop at the start of the neck bottle,
*ch1, miss 1 stitch, 1dc, * repeat till end [18dc, 18ch]
To finish off do 1sc around ch stitch, 1ss into what would be the next round.
Finish off and weave in ends.
Stars
1, Cut 2 meters of B yarn. starting at the top of the bag and using a darning needle sew small X shapes between rows, working up and down to create short loops at the back. Finish where you started and knot with the starting yarn. Weave in all ends. You can either have them random or symmetrical, I have chosen random effect.
Cord
1, In C, ch70, Weave in and out of round 28, The back to be where the change of rounds happen. Leave a chain gap at the front, If you want a longer cord simply chain more as required.
Optional, add a bead to both ends of the chain.Follow along the rounds to the photos above
