Hedgehog
Here is a fun project for anyone that loves hedgehogs.
I used a dragon scale stitch for the main part of the body.

Yarn 3 ply fingering yarn or similar.
Hook size: E/4 3.5mm
Other supplies: Stitch markers (SM), darning needle, Toy stuffing, 7.5mm safety eyes,
Stitches used in this project:
MC magic circle, SC single crochet, CH chain, SS slip stitch, DC double crochet,
Sc2tog, (Invisible Decrease) YO yarn over,
1. Insert the hook through the front loop of the stitch only (two loops on the hook)
2. Insert the hook through the front loop of the next stitch (three loops on the hook)
3. Yarn over hook and pull through the first two loops on the hook, then yarn over and go through both remaining loops to complete the single crochet. (this creates an invisible decrease stitch)

Notes:
* The following pattern is in US instructions.
* Stitches marked in parentheses are in the same stitch, for example:
(2sc) means 2sc into the same stitch

- Brown 30g

Starting in colour B Use stitch markers to mark the start of each round.
Alternatively use a contrasting thread and weave up around the last stitch of each round to the first. When finished simply pull through to remove.
- 6sc into the magic circle, alternatively chain 2 and 6cs into the first chain from hook.

- *(2sc) 2sc, * 2 times [8]
- Change to A, 8sc, [8]
- *(2sc) 3sc, * 2 times [10]
- 10sc, [10]
- *(2sc) 4sc, * 2 times [12]
- 12sc, [12]
- *(2sc) 5sc, * 2 times [14]
- 14sc, [14]
- *(2sc) 2sc, * 4 times, 2sc, [18]
- *(2sc) 3sc, * 4 times, 2sc, [22]
- *(2sc) 4sc, * 4 times, 2sc, [26]

16 to 20. Change to B, 36sc [36]

Partially stuff and insert eyes between round 11 and 12, 5 stitches apart.

33. * sc2tog, 1sc * 7 times [14]
34. * sc2tog, * 7 times [7]
Fully stuff and finish off end.
16 to 20. Change to B, 36sc [36]
21. *(2sc) 6sc, * 5 times, 1sc, [41]
22. To 29. 41sc, [41]
30. * sc2tog, 5sc * 4 times, sc2tog, 4sc, [35]
Partially stuff and insert eyes between round 11 and 12, 5 stitches apart.
31. * sc2tog, 3sc * 7 times [28]
32. * sc2tog, 2sc * 7 times [21]
33. * sc2tog, 1sc * 7 times [14]
34. * sc2tog, * 7 times [7]
Fully stuff and finish off end.
Create separate scales which cover the back off hedgehog.
- Ch33
- (2dc) into 6th chain from hook, (This counts as the first set of 1 dc, space, 2 dc.) * ch1, skip 2ch, 1dc, ch1, skip 2ch, (2dc) * repeat till end, finish in 1dc,
- Skip 1st dc, [First scale] ** ch1, turn * 5bpdc around 1dc of the set of 2dc, working bpdc down, ch1, 5dpbc working around 2nd dc of the set of 2dc, working up to top, ss into top of 1dc, * repeat till end, [5 scales]
- ch1, turn, ss into centre of first scale, ch4, * (2dc) into next ss, (space between the 2 scales), ch1, 1dc into centre of scale, ch1, * repeat till end, Ending with (2dc) into last stitch,
- Repeat round 3 starting at **, [4 scales]
- Turn, (ch3, 1dc) * ch1, 1dc into centre of scale, ch1, (2dc) into next ss, (space between the 2 scales), * repeat till end, Ending with (2dc) into base of bpdc,
- Repeat round 3 starting at **, [5 scales]
- Repeat round 4
- To 13, Repeat pattern with 5 and 4 scales on each round.
Sew along the front sides and back.
