Cat Bag
Pattern:Cat bag YarnUK, 3 ply dk yarn, I used Aldi yarn, so crafty, 80% acrylic 20% wool, 400g ball ABrown150g Hook used:4mm G/6 Other supplies needed: Stitch markers (SM), darning needle, Stitches used in this project mc, ch, ss, sc, dc, tr, spike stitch Spike stitch: put hook between dc 8 and 9 on bag strap, yoh, pull through, pull up to side of strap, yoh, pull through 2 loops on hook. Notes: * The following pattern has US instructions. * Stitches marked in parentheses are in the same stitch Example: (2sc) means 2sc into the same stitch For filet work stitches used are as follows, O for Open, F for Full so 1o will be 1 open filet stitch Washing: Read care label on chosen yarn usualy handwash only Finished size:34cm wide, 37cm deep, 90cm total strap length, 6cm wide 13.5" wide, 14.5" deep, 35.5" total strap length, 2.5" wide |

27 Start the filet crochet, using the diagram as a guide.
The pattern is worked from right to left.
ss, ch2, this counts as 1st dc, 119dc, ss into ch2 sp, [120]
28 ch5, counts as 1dc and ch2, skip 2sp, *1dc, ch2, skip 2sp, 1dc * repeat untill you have 13 x ch2 spaces, (counts as 13 open fillet stitches) 15dc, (counts as 5 full filet stitches) ch2, skip 2sp, 1dc, ch2, skip 2sp, 1dc, (counts as 2 open filet stitches) Total of 20 filet squares, place a different coloured stitch marker. Repeat the pattern once more creating a total of 40 filet squares. replace the chain 5 for a chain 2. ss into ch3 space of the ch5, 13o, 5f, 2o, sm, 13o, 5f, 2o, [40 filet squares]
29 ch5, counts as 1dc and ch2, 1dc into the top of previous dc throughout, ch5 to start each round, Using the diagram as a guide continue creating the filet crochet. To create a full filet stitch over a ch space, 2dc over the ch.

47 Bag strap, Mark either side where the strap will go with stitch markers.
I will use 3 full filet stitches, (10dc)
ch3, counst as 1st dc, 24dc, to second SM, *%ch3, counts as 1st dc, turn, 9dc, [10]
* repeat until you have your required length of strap, I did 71 rows. Finish off and leave a long tail to be used when attaching to other side in round 49.
48 Starting from second SM at where strap starts, start new yarn and attach to top of ch3 from previous round marked %, create dc1 into round 46, continue around untill the start of round 47, 95dc, ss into ch3, [96] do not finish off, continue in round 50.
49 Attach other end of strap, ensure strap is no twisted, using darning needle sew to opposite side as marked with SM. I sewed up and down twice to ensure strength.
50 Starting with round 48 working yarn, ch1, 14sc, 1sc into the 1st round of strap, *(1sc around round 9 of strap, ie spike stitch, 1sc around round 10 of strap,) * repeat up the length of the strap. In last stitch 1sc into the last round, sc around the top of bag to the beginning of round. ss to ch1 at the start, Finish off and weave in ends

51 Repeat round 50, Turn bag to the other side and join working yarn to and stitch near to the strap, sc around the top of the bag, Reverse the stitch for the strap, *(1sc around round 10 of strap, 1sc around round 9 of strap, ie spike stitch) * repeat up the length of the strap. In last stitch 1sc into the last round, sc around the top of bag to the beginning of round. ss to ch1 at the start, Finish off and weave in ends NOTE ensure strap pattern matches the opposite side.
